Update News!


Hello everyone!

All the work for the new update is very close to being finished!
I ended up adding more than what was previously planned in the "Update Roadmap" post. That news update was more of a general outline than a set-in-stone change log. 

Anywho,
0.1.14 is more focused on setting up some base mechanics for future detective game-play going forward. The Puzzle in the update is functional but will be relatively easy for two reasons.

1. The puzzle is reliant on ALOT of paper letters, magazines, pictures, etc item assets (most of which arent finished)
2. Its a tutorial puzzle. So there will be some tutorial windows to explain what the hell is happening on your screen.
Lots of future puzzles will be using this new mechanic, so the hand-holding won't be necessary later on. (I like to avoid tutorial windows wherever possible)

In other news about the update

After some consideration, I decided NOT to have Euphy be the star of this update's lewd activities. The last one felt very thrown in and unfinished.
So instead I actually managed to work the lewd scene into the tutorial of the new mechanic being added. This will give you an idea of some of the cool interactions in the over-world you'll be able to make in the future.

So yeah. Expect it to be out real soon!

CHANGES

-The journal and bag buttons now make a little noise upon hover.
-Several UI elements are now using the tooltip system for labeling.
-Items dragged onto the screen from the inventory no longer use a cross icon.
-Items dragged onto the screen from the inventory now use a return to inventory icon.
-Made some corrections to Annie and Roxy's busts.
 (Euphy's are still being cleaned up)
-Increased value of the slow typewriting speed.
 (It was too slow)
-Some overworld ambient sound emitter was moved to instanced scenes instead of the main scene.
 (This will allow the enabling/disabling of overworld ambient sounds during playtime)
-Adjusted day lighting color.
-The double doors down the stairs from the bedroom now lead to the backyard.
 (In later versions this will lead to a backyard entrance room.)
-Began the process of cleaning up placeholder UI elements.
-Some UI elements have more sound effects.
-You can now enter Roxy's room. (she doesn't really use it at the moment.)
-Removed some pointless colliders.
FIXES
-----------
-You can no longer, as my friend would describe it "club penguin walk" on top of the servers in the cellar.
-Some of Annie's bust sprites no longer get cut off.
-The water in the pool no longer has a strange overlap under it.
-Removed strange glare that was on the main menu.
-The Main Menu buttons no longer have overlapped hitboxes.
-The Main Menu buttons are no longer distorted from post-processing.
-The East Hallway back door no longer vanishes randomly.
-Removed some broken code.
TODO FIXES

-Stop the Vroomba from clipping through the wall.
-Res Options menu.
