0.2 Roadmap NEWS!


Hello Everyone. 

Today I would like to clarify what's going on right now with the board member test release of Network Euphoria!

First things first, for those who have played the latest build, you will be able to tell that it is still in an incomplete state.
There is still a number of changes/fixes/features and content that need to be added before the build is ready for the Shareholder and Itch pre-order release!

Here's a list of what will be coming.
-Tease of upcoming sticker collectible system.
-Finishing the larger dialogue sprites for the new girl.
-Adding collisions to the Mnty store.
-Finishing the Collisions for Lyn-Lee

-The completion of the introduction sequence for the new girl.
        (This will include some kind of gameplay element, and wont just be a long cutscene.)
And the biggest thing

-Mansion Hallway rework.
        (The fading corridors and walls are going to be gutted entirely in the upper hallway of the mansion. It will be faster to simply drop the                       system entirely for that one spot than to attempt to fix the issues it causes.)

Instead, the trip from the lobby of the manor, to the player's bedroom will also be condensed. This will be due to the fact that the hallway will now be its own separated room that the player is teleported into through doors. Meaning it will have to be as large as it currently is to match the length between the front and the back of the manor.

You cannot understand the insane amount of dev time this will save the moment i no longer have to worry about what state the manor's transitions are set to. It will also allow me to drastically decrease transition times in certain cut scenes, or when you are loading a save, as the transition period will no longer have to be masked by loading screens.

 ( I know I know its stupid and could be implemented better to prevent these issues)

This system will likely be brought back in some way or another in a later project I have planned, but will be much better executed. I used NE as a stomping ground for it. I dont regret testing it out,  but for right now, after taking notes on how to better implement such a system, its is now in the way of content creation.

Anyway, after all this is put into play and the Shareholder release is put into play....

We will now begin the process of trickling updates much more frequently.

As an example, 

The next Big update after this will add the Cafe.

And wont take a quarter of a year to make and post.
As I was trying to express in my last big devlog, The next part of the game really opens up.  All the different buildings of the town and it's character's need to be implemented and introduced as Annie walks you around Lyn-lee!

I no longer have to spend half of my update development time reworking a system that I made when I didn't fully grasp the workflow I was going to have while making the game.

Meaning I can start focusing on just Fixes and Content!

Meaning, next big update? BOOM Cafe, BOOM Barista, BOOM story continuation, And BOOM H content tease to tide everyone over till more gameplay stuff can be added.

On top of all this!

I recently came into contact with a very talented animator called Ashtart! He will soon be helping us expand the cinematography of the larger sprite sex scenes in the game! On top of potentially helping with lots of other things!

So all in all. The next year of development for NE is looking really good! So look forward to whats coming!

Also here is the changelog for the build that is currently live for Board member testers. As I said before this build is still a work in progress so expect this to be expanded once the shareholder release comes.

-Added the wip starting base of Lyn-Lee! (The name of the town)

--System--

-Added goobers to welcome screen.

-There is now a Fullscreen toggle.

-There is now a Resolution dropdown.

-The Intro cutscene now has a skip feature. This may be added to other cutscenes later on.

-Every Pop-up window, from tutorials to unlock screens, has been completely redesigned.

-The Options menu has been completely redesigned.

-The Bed menu has been completely redesigned.

-Settings are now saved.

    (The data for settings is saved globally across saves using PlayerPrefs)

    (No the entire save system does not use PlayerPrefs. Only the your Settings)

-There is now a button to reopen the tutorial window in the Cam puzzle.
    (This will be added to other puzzles later)

-Your progress in the cam puzzle will now be saved.

CHANGES

-----------

-Turned off bloom vfx in menu.

    (will likely gut bloom entirely, unless its during the night)

-Roxy's hair has been animated and corrected in her introduction.

-The Ui now fades smoothly instead of abruptly when you move.

-The save system has been completely reworked.
    (Save files are now editable using the JSON format instead of Binary Serialization)

-Rewrote a few lines in Euphy's intro.

    (She correctly spells the word elephant now. She whispers it instead of yelling it)

-Rewrote some of Roxy's dialogue after the fuse box sequence.
    (She sounds more teasy now, instead of eye rolling sarcastic)

-Rewrote some of the Narrator's dialogue during Annie's introduction.
    (changed "Hooking up" to "woo her")

-The Bed menu transition is much much faster.

-The Journal is more saturated now.

-Updated main menu credits.

-Updated intro credits.

-Fixed colors in shower.

FIXES

-----------

-Reworked a lot of the code behind the cam puzzle.

-You can no longer get trapped in the bedroom during the cam puzzle.

-You can no longer button mash the books to make the read button not disappear.

-You can no longer stand on top of the workbench after the cam puzzle.

-The Bed no longer glows during the wake up cutscene.

-The Music slider works again.

-The SFX slider works again.

-The SFX slider properly affects menu navigation sounds.

-Annie no longer reappears after sleeping again to the evening when she's cleaning.

-The "Talk to Euphy" Task in the Hangout quest finally completes after the euphoria cutscene.

-Reorganized the entire project.

-Cleaned up a lot more code.

TODO FIXES

-----------

-Reanimate the first sex scene.

-Apparently Euphy is turning blue again.

-Incorporate Euphy's tail and ears in more of her animations.
